Ebony DeGrace is a visual media artist rooted in a love for cinematography and photography. Her journey began in Baltimore, where her passion for candid/documentarian and visual storytelling was sparked in middle school through black-and-white film photography. Over time, her dedication to capturing life’s candid moments led her to the world of filmmaking, where she immersed herself in film workshops and independent study, developing a distinct style she describes as "cinematic experimentalism" and her photography style as "cinematic lifestyle."
With over two decades of experience, Ebony’s work combines real and surreal, drawing on a vivid, evocative approach that celebrates the Black experience. Her work crosses conventional boundaries, embracing the rawness of life while channeling it through a unique, dreamlike lens. Her artistry is marked by a deep commitment to storytelling that evokes nostalgia, the candidness of life, and the transcendental.
As she explores new creative horizons, including Creative Technology and New Media Art, Ebony remains devoted to crafting work that resonates from the real and rawness of life, to the profound and spiritual, inviting audiences to experience the intimacy and universality of her vision.
